LOS ANGELES, Monday July 26, 2010
John Cryan, Partner of Fortuna Advisors LLC, was named a runner up of the 2010 40 Under 40 M&A Advisor Recognition Awards. The M&A Advisor today hosts a televised black tie Awards Gala at The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel in Los Angeles to introduce the 40 Under 40 Award winners to the business community and celebrate their achievements.
The M&A Advisor, renowned globally for its recognition of leading M&A, financing and turnaround professionals, created this event to promote mentorship and professional development amongst the emerging business leaders.
The 2010 40 Under 40 Award winners have been chosen for their accomplishments and expertise from a pool of international nominees by an independent judging panel of distinguished business leaders. “We will be recognizing individuals — the up and coming leaders still under the age of 40 — who’ve been handling the M&A, financing and turnaround transactions behind the scenes. I look forward to meeting all of them in person and bestowing upon them The M&A Advisor’s highest individual achievement,” says Roger Aguinaldo, CEO and founder of The M&A Advisor.
At Fortuna Advisors, our M&A related services fall in three areas:
- M&A Strategy: Fortuna Advisors assists clients in the development of a value creating M&A strategy. We apply our analytical framework to deliver periodic objective M&A landscape analyses, including a comprehensive review of all “targets & players”. For many, this is a very desirable service to supplement the periodic M&A pitch books they receive from their investment bankers.
- Transaction Analysis: Once a transaction is seriously contemplated, we work with management to evaluate the target in more detail and consider opportunities for value enhancement based on growth and efficiency synergies. For public targets, we begin with a current market expectations analysis and for private companies we use peers to establish a baseline. Then we layer on top of this the benefits that can be achieved in the order of likelihood of achievement. This can be used as the basis for considering bid and negotiation strategy, financing options/implications and integration planning.
- M&A Execution: For smaller deals, we provide comprehensive M&A execution advice. But for very large deals, we expect many clients prefer to engage an investment bank or similar more traditional M&A advisor for ultimate execution. We can be helpful in the selection process to find the right bank for the job.
